You probably want to be talking to NCLUG, see their site at
http://www.nclug.org/

Hacking Society isn't really an Install Fest, nor can we easily handle
setting one up at our normal meetings, for a number of reasons.  The
installfests are usually done by NCLUG.  I'm sure that if you were
interested in helping to organize one, that there'd be interest in the
rest of the community for staffing it, etc...  Contact NCLUG about that.
